RTX 2080 Ti Hybrid Mod: Liquid Cooling Founders Edition (1/2)
We watercooled the RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition card, sticking a closed-loop liquid cooler (AIO/CLC) onto the GPU instead of a custom water block.
Ad: Buy EVGA's RTX 2080 XC Ultra (Amazon: http://geni.us/Wk5e) or 2080 Ti XC Ultra (Newegg: http://geni.us/xKfae)
We used the iFixit Pro Tech Tool Kit on the iFixit site here: http://geni.us/t9OV7Z6
Liquid cooling the RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition (reference) design follows the same process as the Titan V, we found, and so we used a 280mm closed-loop liquid cooler from be quiet! (the 280 Silent Loop), then added Corsair ML140 fans for cooling.
There aren't any official water blocks shipping for the RTX 2080 Ti Founders cards yet, so we're going with the CLC route. VRM/VRAM cooling will be handled with a lot of direct airflow, and will be completely within spec, as usual from this approach. Open loop water blocks for RTX cards will be tested at a later date.
