RTX4090/ Dragon's Dogma 2 / first two hours of sniffing around each corner + RTSS / 150% res scale
EDIT: apparently setting "Image quality" slider to max value translates into 150% resolution scale - terrible UI/UX design...
overall i think i'm not gonna return it... but:
lost first hour to troubleshoot the crashes to desktop... fix for crash reported as application DD2.exe [resource-exhaustion-detector] in windows event logger caused system to run out of virtual memory: https://www.reddit.com/r/DragonsDogma2/comments/1blfwl3/comment/kw7jkah/
settings:
UHD / DLSS off / RT on / maxed
120 MB/s recording from NVIDIA App
other than that:
- the performance is poor
- tearing is noticeable
- combat seems random and very arcade
- character & camera movements are scuffed
- character ai is dented
- playable area seems to be very limited - not much open world /-ish and limited to 'paths'
- npc interaction and talk animations are bad
- game starts in window for some reason / first shaders compile takes ages and that progress 'animation' is horrible
- another studio that makes main menu idle animation to burn GPU with ~100% usage
00:00:50 game settings
00:01:17 main menu game loop - i was waiting for game crash / checking fix
