In the middle of July of this year, a leak revealed that Atlus have a good amount of games in the works. One of them was a rumoured Persona fighting game, which many have speculated would be Persona 5 Arena, or some other similar nomenclature. In that same leak it seems like a Persona 1 remake is also in the works. Along with a remake of the Persona 2 Duology. These games are of course titles Atlus fans have been demanding for a long time in community polls. When you consider Atlus recently announced Persona 3 Reload, remakes for Persona 1 & 2 make a ton of sense, as it would bring the whole series onto modern consoles. The earlier Persona games are much closer to their parent franchise Shin Megami Tensei in terms of overall gameplay and mechanics, however, they are a watered down version, making them more accessible to newcomers. If Atlus did update these games with remakes, it'd bring them more in line with the more modern Persona titles and would make for an all around friendlier user experience, which is a good thing.
