The rumour mills are ramping up and they're all pointing to a brand new Spyro title coming in 2024. Fans of the franchise have started to worry they'll never see their favourite purple dragon again after Toys for Bob and Activision went silent after 2018's Reignited Trilogy. We all know that Spyro is no stranger to trying out new gameplay formulas. However, if Activision wants the first Spyro title in this rebooted timeline to be a success they'll need to stick pretty close to the original formula. However, some nods to the Legend continuity would be cool. Also, maybe some nods to the Skylander games here and there. But Spyro 4 absolutely needs to stick to the tried, true and classic 3D Collect-a-Thon Platformer genre. It's what the majority of the fan base wants. Plus there are so few games of that type in the modern gaming landscape it'd make Spyro 4 stand out. That's not to say Toys for Bob or whichever company winds up developing this game shouldn't innovate on the 3D Collect-a-Thon Platformer. Far from it. There will need to be some form of innovation and one of the ways they could do that is limited free flight in some levels. But what's on your Spyro 4 Wishlist?
