Now it's time for the Class 153 to have her turn on the layout. This model was made by Hornby, with the tooling dating back to around 2008. I got this model back in July 2017, and a model shop in Greerton (suburb in the south of Tauranga) called 'Bay Hobby Supplies'.
The 153 is probably one of the best runners in my collection. She has a relatively small motor at one end, unlike the 128. I think this is because the 153's are passenger carrying units, and are meant to have a proper see-through seating area.
My Hornby Class 153 depicts unit 153329 as she was around five years ago. The model carries the First Great Western plain blue livery, but the real thing is currently operated by Transport for Wales.
