Train Simulator 2019: Coniston Branch (Take 2)
And now we head back to the Coniston Branch, because why the heck not? The first run I did on this route was from Foxfield to Coniston. The engine on that run was Caledonian Railway 812 class No. 828
This time we do the return trip from Coniston to Foxfield, stopping at all station on the way. The engine for this run is LMS Fowler 4F No. 44347. As far as I know, this locomotive did actually run on the line in real life.
The main reason I revisited this line is to get an idea of what it would look like before commencing production on an episode series, similar to what Angry Welshman Productions and BSM Iron (Panzer) Lawl have done.
My original plan was to have this line set in Staffordshire, and involve a fictional Granfield to Waterhouses line (which would go through Foxfield). The line was originally going to be run by GWR engines, and I had planned to include the Leek and Manifold line in the series. I managed to write scripts for the pilot episode as well as episodes 1 to 7.
This was all scrapped after I found out that the Coniston Branch was a real line in Cumbria. I used to think it was a fictional route, and I had it set in Staffordshire because I wanted to include the Leek and Manifold Line in the series.
I have since had to redesign the entire series, in an effort to make it more realistic. What I've done is ditched the GWR engines for LMS engines (hence the use of the 4F). I've had to dump the narrow-gauge line from the series, which is annoying because I felt that the episodes of the old series focusing on the narrow-gauge line were pretty good.
Now I'm really struggling to find any motivation to continue with the series. I think if I continued with the older series, I would get a mountain of complaints from the purists. Not that I care for the purists anyway.
So to summarise, I am planning to make an episodic series on this route. The only problem now is voice acting. I don't want to do any of the voices because I really hate hearing my voice played back in a recording. This is why I don't do commentary in my videos.
