Running Windows Vista Beta 1 Build 5112 inside Windows XP (VMware Workstation)
Episode 40.
Today's episode is Windows Vista Beta 1 Build 5112.
Apologies if I haven't been uploading recently. I've been busy with school and other stuff.
Plus, it's actually an upgrade method I did. I actually upgraded from a Japanese Windows XP Version (in which I showcased last episode) to an English Windows Vista Beta Build. It's best to do an upgrade method.
Anyway, Windows Vista Build 5112 is the official Beta 1 build of Windows Vista. It is also the first build to feature the name "Windows Vista" instead of "Windows Longhorn", despite the Boot Screen and Winver still saying Microsoft Longhorn. You also got the Aero theme which has been set by default, but only if you have graphics card that supports Aero. You also got a new taskbar, a new start menu, and the icons are set as Medium Icons by default, just like in RTM Vista.
(WARNING: If you're going to do a clean install, I don't recommend it. The disk space on the clean installation on Vista Build 5112 says the disk partition is unavailable. Instead of doing a clean install, it's best to upgrade to Vista Build 5112 from Windows XP after setting the BIOS Date listed in the description.)
