Crusader Kings 3 is here, so I will be playing as King Matts Ruriksson of Garðarík for the second in my video series.

My goal for this series is to form Russia, so I can get the Land for the Rus achievement. I am quite confident that I can do this because Rurik The Troublemaker starts off pretty well at the beginning of the game in the year 867.

In this video, I do many things such as marry off my heirs, beat up on my weaker neighbors, marry my daughters off to secure alliances as well as build structures in my domains. My opening moves are subjugate the easiest big nation close to me, than just cycle wars to get my neighbors county's. This strategy makes my neighbors considerably weaker while making me stronger as a result. I also try something new, which is choose to become a elective tribal kingdom. This allows me to retain all my land, when my current liege dies. I was also defending myself from the Swedish and Irish hordes that tried to stop my rapid expansion. While I was fighting these wars, Khazaria toke the best opportunity to declare war and I lost one county. I could have won the war, but I was unable to bring my armies back into Novgorod to swing the war in my favor.

I also was able to create the kingdom of Novgorod as well due to having enough duchies to do so.
