Rusty Shell to Stunning GT - Rusty's Dream XT GT Tribute
90In todays episode we catch up with Rusty and his XT Ford Falcon GT tribute, this thing is awesome and the workmanship that has gone into it is amazing. Its dead flat black paint job and flawless gaps present this car perfectly. Rusty and his family spent hours looking at the gaps on the XT to ensure they were perfectly aligned on the car. As he stated, he is one that checks these gaps when he sees other cars at car events, so he want to ensure it was perfect. Topped off with shiny chrome and immaculate stainless trim.
The Ford started its life as a XR Ford Falcon but Rusty converted this to XT Ford Falcon GT Tribute with all the GT components, from the outside to interior, with some resto mods along the way to just enhance the cars look and performance.
Under the bonnet is a 351 Cleveland V8 Engine with flat top pistons, Roller Rockers, Air Gap Edelbrock Manifold, Stage 2 cam, Extractors, MSD Ignition with 650 Double Pumper Holley Brawler and Extractors. The Air Condition was installed by Lions Air Conditioning in Kewdale as well. This is all backed with a c4 gearbox and a 9 inch true track Diff rear end and of course, the Shaker bonnet scopes that are everyone favourites with these model Ford's.
The interior is as the outside all black with stainless trim and woodgrain dash. Holding it all on the road is a set of 12 slotters with big boots on the rear. Rusty built this XT GT Tribute after having dreams about his XT Fairmont he used to own back in the day and it would seemed that he couldn't shake the feeling, so he had to have it back in his life. So he started his journey to build the car from his reoccurring dream and what he built does not disappoint. The Build took about 7 months on solid work, none stop. Two to three of those months were welding up the panels, repairs and correction from others, just so every panel was perfect. You can tell that Rusty couldn't be happier by the way he talks about the XT and passion behind the conversation.
Plus, his family feels the same way from his wife to his sons. Rusty has even build some replica parts, such as the trim across the boot that the XT Ford Falcon GT had and the Lucas Driving lights for the front of the XT GT Tribute, which he now sells to help others doing other projects just like his one. Rusty spared no expense on the XT Ford Falcon GT Tribute and shows in the quality of the build, the gaps in panels and the overall stances on the vehicle. Plus, this XT has responsive performance through the Cleveland V8 and the quicksilver shifter connect to responsive C4 gearbox. It definitely has Ford Performance, plus the air conditioning is super cold whilst cruising down the street. Rusty made sure his dream build was perfect in every way and built to last.
