Safari 4 Beta Quick Walkthrough and Impressions
29In this video, I discuss the new browser revision from Apple, Safari 4 beta. Safari 4 beta touts a much faster javascript engine, a new "top sites" feature, coverflow integration with history, and a revamped interface for tabs. I love the speed of the browser, but the interface changes will take some getting used to. I'm not too crazy about the Google Chrome-like tabs on the top of the browser, but I can live with it since I do use Google Chrome. It just doesn't fit with the rest of Apple's applications. The coverflow features are nice eye-candy but I doubt I will use it often. I do love the Top Sites feature not only because it shows your most common sites, but that you can customize and re-arrange them to meet your preferences. All in all, Safari 4 beta is a great start to a new version of Safari. I love the faster javascript and top sites, and I believe Apple will improve other features in the future. Take care!
