Saints Row IV - Copy+pasting done properly
To summarize, there's nothing wrong with copy-pasting code as long as there's no obvious room for improvement, and changing it would not improve the game. Although it is a good idea to experiment with alternatives, making major changes to the core game is often a foolish idea as it deviates from what made the franchise successful initially. Instead, developers should focus on making minor ADDITIONS to the game and should refrain from making fundamental changes unless it is highly requested; not changing things in fear of being accused of laziness. A good rule of thumb is that a game should never go BACKWARDS, as was the case with, say, GTA IV.
