Although it is in everyone's best interest to deliver a finished, high-quality product on launch without the need for lots of updates to fix a half-finished game, announcing a game or its release date too soon in the development cycle is frustrating for both consumers and developers due to expectations. We believe it's best if a game is announced when there is a significant amount of content to show; rather than just a logo.
