A student from a Salvation Army school in Liberia, Junita H Sangare, has received a national award for her academic achievement. This award recognizes her as being among the 13 highest achieving students in the country. She was also awarded a fully-funded United World Colleges International Scholarship beating more than 450 applicants across the country. Salvation Army schools in Liberia have been recognized nationally for their outstanding performance. At Junita’s school, William Booth High School, the pass rate is more than 25% above the countries national average for standardized tests. The schools ensure that students not only exceed academically but also receive a nurturing, holistic education.
