First two guesses will determine if you need three or four guesses. I find I can get 70% in 4 guesses and 30% in 3 guesses.

I just guessed SLATE and hit T so with with IRONY and nothing which is great. Now I know it has a U and I go with THUMB but miss. Then its 50-50 and I guess HUTCH and it is correct. I had I stuck with LOUIE as the opening I probably would have tried an A and U and ended up with 4 guesses anyways.
