Call of Duty star Scump puts the retirement rumors to rest, saying he has at least 1 more year left in him for Call of Duty League...but what will his team even be called next season?

Scump had hinted at retirement ever since the Call of Duty League started, but apparently he feels like he has one more season in him. On his Twitch stream, the OpTic star said that he will play at least one more year in the CDL, but after that, “who knows what will happen”.

Scump is currently one of only 2 members left on the Chicago OpTic roster, with Envoy being released and FormaL retiring, and with the reported merger with ENVY and Dallas Empire on the way, it’s not even clear what his team will be called next year. It will be the third season in a row that Scump has played for a different team while never technically leaving his org.

So we get at least one more year of Scump in Call of Duty league, but it does raise the question of what happens to the league when Scump finally does hang up the controller. With no real break out stars in the league besides the Tiny Terrors, and sponsors dropping the league amid the Activision Blizzard lawsuit, next year is going to be insanely important for the CDL’s future
