I recently spent an overcast, misty afternoon looking for the abandoned Golden Eagle Mine from which silver and gold were mined. I started by hiking down an old mining road that hadn't seen traffic of any kind in many years. Once down in the ravine, I found the eroded site of the Golden Eagle Mine after about 15 minutes of searching and then continued following the old road to two clearings. While poking around in the brush near the mine, I found some interesting artifacts, too.
