Do you want to win a $50 Amazon gift card? Sure you do! Here's how: A couple days ago I recently obtained my 10,000th subscriber here on my YouTube channel! Quite a milestone! Thank you, subscribers! To celebrate this achievement and to thank you for your continued support and interest in my abandoned mine exploration videos, I am conducting a give-away. The prize is a $50 Amazon gift card. Pretty nice, eh? All you need to win it are a scratch pad and some basic math skills. Here's how to play:

Starting on Thursday, April 9th 2015, I will be uploading a new video every Thursday until Thursday, April 30th 2015. That means there will be four videos in all. If you wish to enter the give-away, you will need to watch all four videos and locate the two numbers that will be visible in each video. They will appear anywhere and at any time in the video. I will not verbally point them out. Once you spot a number, you will need to write it down on your scratch pad. After you have watched all four videos over the course of the next four Thursdays and found all four pairs of numbers, you will have eight numbers on your scratch pad. Simply add up those eight numbers and email me the correct grand total to abandoned_mines@lycos.com. You must include in your email your real, full name and mailing address so that I can mail you the gift card if you are the winner. You must have a valid U.S. mailing address! If you live outside the United States, you can still enter as long as you have a valid U.S. mailing address such as the address of a relative, friend, or business associate who is here in the United States who could receive the gift card for you if you are, indeed, the winner. The winner will be determined by whoever submits the correct grand total first as indicated by the date/time stamp on their email to me.

The videos will be uploaded each Thursday (the 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th of April 2015) sometime between 12:01 AM PDT and 11:59 PM PDT.

So what will these numbers look like in the videos? What will they be? Good questions, so here are some examples: I may be filming down inside a mine tunnel and showing some surveyor's marks painted on the tunnel wall. You may see me pan past a spray-painted mark that says "650 feet." Or I may film some timbering inside a mine on which a carved date of "1922" can be seen. Or I might be inside an old miner's cabin and zoom-in on an old, vintage can of WD-40. Or I may find an old refrigerator at a mine site and zoom-in on the model number such as #37892. Those would be numbers that you would record onto your scratch pad: 650. 1922, 40, and 37892. See how it works? Keep in mind, though, that each video will only have TWO numbers in it.

Also, don't make the mistake of adding up the individual digits in each number that you find. In the example above of the model number on an old refrigerator, you would NOT add each digit together like this: 3+7+8+9+2 = 29. That would be incorrect. Treat each number as a whole. In the case of the refrigerator model number, the number would be 37,892. You would add that number to the next number that you found, etc..

You must be 18 or older to enter and participate in this give-away. You do NOT need to be a subscriber to my channel in order to enter. The only people ineligible to enter are my immediate and extended family and anybody who has appeared with me in any of my videos that are on my channel. YouTube is in no way involved with this give-away in any fashion whatsoever.

Have fun looking for the numbers in the upcoming videos of abandoned mines! And thank you so much for your continued support of my channel. I really appreciate it.

Watch the above video to hear me explain the give-away rules.
