13:12 has music copyright 1995 Rareware and is when the climb of Gomi's Tower starts. 36:32 is when the Sterling fight starts.

Gomi's Tower is the last bit of relevant gameplay you will ever see in a normal run of the game; the only thing after it that is before what trivializes everything left is easy, so once you wade through the Maggot and Gargon palette swaps who get 88 ATK, and take out Sterling, who is actually creative for a palette swap of Timberdrake by having a grab attack and relative Stone Wall stats even if I think the grab attack could have stood to not provide intangibility for too long, you're in the denouement for the gameplay. Believe me, I'm not exaggerating. Granted, I'm not going to abuse the big reason the game gets easier, you'll see why in case it isn't already obvious, but my point will still hold up in general.

So now that we're at the effective climax for the gameplay, I can say that yes, Secret of Evermore ages gracefully. It may have persistent issues, but it's always been about traveling survival in a strange, jungle-like world as a boy and his dog who had previously been the sort who have been able to go around their home town watching B-movies at a modern town theater. Friendly faces are around but not too common, though their aid is inevitably appreciated, which by the way makes the actions of White Queen Sigrid all the more jarring.

Gomi's Tower isn't the best example of what works about SoE's general gameplay, but it holds up well enough. Sterling really steals the show when the effective Battalion Wars Attack command usage as the simple solution to the complicated problem he provides doesn't even just cheese him entirely, and the story, where he actually lives and helps us, actually justifies his stats as you can see.

See, this is the sort of thing that modern game design needs to understand more, the sort of purity that would have to be involved in handling this. Instead, we get gaming communities willing to cannibalize each other so much that their actions, as well as those of the likes of Billy Mitchell who is at minimal still guilty of knowingly hiding a relevant factor that would draw the accusations of cheating toward his person in the first place, just plain drown out people like Richard Garriott, the maker of the Ultima series. I swear to God that there is some karma involved with the virus mess because it certainly has driven the tourneytrash of Smash Bros. who have overrun Ultimate to be handling things indoors where they have to put up with online play which they have hated well before Ultimate with its horror stories of particularly bad Wifi for EVERYBODY. GOSH I dodged a bullet by not touching that game.

If people don't want me complaining, they shouldn't say I just suck at games somehow, or that I suck, period. I've been doing something right, it's my bad luck I can't get somewhere with it. When my efforts get spit on through no fault of my own beyond simply dealing with people who either drag down standards or force overly specific skill demand, that's unacceptable. And it's even more unacceptable that people would claim me to be worse than the troll nest members like what RoahmMythril did.

Well, I'm realizing that I can't live in the past; if I try that, I fear I would just have too much excuse to become some apathetic piece of filth. When all is said and done, it's more important to live in the present and future, and that's if that could even be managed.
