Talk about How To Train Your Dragon at 12:07 that is more important than some boss named Timberdrake would ever be. Lightning In A Bottle moment at 21:12 showcasing luck I wish was better timed. Abandoned Castle Town music playout at 32:59 as well.
All of the threats here are familiar. Timberdrake doesn't count when he's a reject even by the standards of Secret of Evermore's general bosses past Prehistoria. I may as well talk about non-gameplay aspects.
Hiccup in How To Train Your Dragon is an inspiration for me when he's basically this Squishy Wizard guy in a society of big guys who live and die by their battle axes. He gets by on being a Deadpan Snarker who when he becomes a Red Baron comes across as unassuming, clarifies about his Red Baron status in a heartwarming manner, and proves that underestimating the sort of guy who an ancestor of his has empathetic faith in is as foolish as it is tempting. When he makes his own crossbow and armor instead of the other way around, it goes to show why Astrid and Toothless showing loyalty to him becomes its own very welcome show.
HtTYD involves not only Savvy Guy Energetic Girl in a well-handled manner, but also Monster Allies, or Benevolent Monsters, actually. Monster Allies is something I did the trope workshop entry for back in the day, given that it becomes appealing to show that there's a bigger world out there and that not all so-called-monsters are bad guys--the good guys' opposition are generally bad guys and/or military and that can involve cases of Humans Are The Real Monsters. Obviously, the Benevolent Monsters usage of HtTYD is with dragons, and that does bring up subject matter with how dragon involvement should be about the players showing how well they make their power instead of the other way around. I mention that Dragon Warrior Monsters involved the idea of the Dragon family having high EXP requirements to justify high parameters in all stats. Games learning to be more creative with that sort of thing would be welcome.
Oh, and meanwhile, I let out the abandoned castle town theme play out without my talking or any game sounds interfering for a few minutes. You can hear why I basically like it. Also, the Regrowth status buff doesn't get removed by getting hit like what the Wikia was saying before I fixed that; that was likely placebo from the point that it just plain sucks in general but I'll be using it anyway...
