"The thresholds and requirements to avoid decompression sickness aren't known for dogs. Shallow depths are likely ok, but I'd call this irresponsible in the face of not knowing this information. Not to mention that a dog can't communicate to you if there is an issue with its air supply, if its joints start hurting, or if it's congested/otherwise can't clear its escutcheon tubes. Diving is technical, and I wouldn't take someone with absolutely zero diving knowledge underwater. A dog is even more poorly suited.
