I was genuinely looking forward to the third and final Sonic Frontiers DLC, Final Horizon. It promised to fix a lot of the issues I had with the original base game's finale by adding new playable characters in the form of Amy, Knuckles and Tails alongside a revised storyline and new final boss.
Sadly, the Sonic Frontiers DLC also broke my little fanboy heart. It is some of the most frustrating, poorly designed and low quality Sonic gameplay that I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing.
This DLC is so bad that I didn't even finish it, and I'm now reconsidering which direction the Sonic franchise is heading in, and whether that's a direction I can follow. It tells me that Sega and Sonic Team can't be trusted to continue looking after the blue blur.
