I wasn't sure how often I was going to do SEGA Genesis - Nintendo Switch Online, because I am more into Nintendo 64 than SEGA Genesis, but at least there are some games to play on there, and the one I play for this video is Streets of Rage 2.
This game released in 1992, and it is a sequel to Streets of Rage, which came out in 1991, they seem to put the second game of the series instead of the first, because they did that with Sonic the Hedgehog 2. This game was developed by SEGA, and it is a side-scrolling beat-em-up game where you play as four different characters, and you fight against waves of enemies and you pick up weapons along the way.
While this game was initially released on the Mega Drive, or Genesis in North America, it did see re-releases on other consoles, like the Game Gear and Master System, two other SEGA consoles, and it was on the Nintendo 3DS in 2015, and right now on the Switch as part of Nintendo Switch Online. As with the Streets of Rage series, the first three games were for the Mega Drive, or Genesis if you want to call it that, and it wasn't until 2020 that we get Streets of Rage 4, which is on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and XBox One.
