Head towards the Cave of Troy, but instead of taking the path to the east of it, head south first. There are 2 treasure chests worth collecting here: one containing 300 kims and another containing a Dark Sword. The Dark Sword is cursed, so I don't recommend equipping it. You are mainly just getting additional exp/kims by clearing out this portion of the map.

Once you have collected these 2 chests, head down the path to the east. When the path forks, giving you the option of heading north through some trees, take the north path, and then head all the way east where you will find a Gem Shield, which you should equip immediately. Backtrack down this path and then continue along the bottom eastern path.

When you arrive at the screen that contains 4 new possible exits, the path to the next town is actually the bottom right one; however, we are going to take the bottom left first to do some exploring. Taking this path, there are chests that contain 200 kims, 300 kims, and a Sapphire Shield. Note that the Sapphire Shield chest does not appear unless you face a direction other than north (I was facing east when I picked it up). This shield is even stronger than the Gem Shield. With these 3 chests collected, we can now take the path towards Watling.

Inside Watling, you will discover than everyone is old. You can rest up at the Inn for free since the innkeeper doesn't remember how much to charge. There is a man in the top right house that tells you of the monster in Verlin's Cave to the northeast, and gives you the map for that area. Onward to Verlin's Cave next.
