A few customers reported a fault with a RAD2X on their Sega Saturns consoles, whereby a loud audio buzzing could be heard through the TVs speakers. We were able to reproduce this in house using a PAL Saturn and discovered that the console was not supplying enough power to the RAD2X via the 5 volts line. It was measuring at less than 5 volts, and when under load it dropped significantly down to 3.6 volts.

I was able to tweak the trimmer pot on the switch mode power supply to increase the voltage back to 5 volts.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW!
****This is not a suggested way a fix this issue and we recommend customers not to carry out this work, as this trimmer pot increases all the voltage lines on the switch mode power supply. This is just a demonstration of what the causes the problem. Instead we suggest customers send back the RAD2X for modification so that it can work off an external power supply via the microUSB input on the RAD2X. ***
