Welcome to my Geomancer SCC. For more details, read the description in part 1. A recap can be found below the line.

Yardow is one of the hardest battles in an SCC. This can be a road block for many classes, although it is definitely beatable with any class with enough attempts, better luck and better equipment. There are two noteworthy "problems" in this fight.

First is the enemy setup. Three ninjas, who can destroy you in melee, and two summoners, who can destroy you with range. Even when playing a class that has low faith, they still hurt a fair amount, and Ramza has 70 faith on all classes (except mediator).

The secondary problem is Rafa. She is a guest and she must not die. But with an enemy lineup consisting of ninjas and summoners, this can be very difficult! Unlike guests such as Ovelia earlier in the game, her AI is *not* set to run away, but rather behaves like the regular AI does as far as I can tell, which means she'll attack the enemy as long as her HP isn't very low. This is a problem because with these enemies' high damage potential, she is quite likely to die. Thankfully, she has a mantle and innate bad compatibility with one of the ninjas, who has always the same Zodiac sign, and I think worst with one of the summoners? Not sure about the latter.

Thankfully, geomancer is one of the better classes to deal with this map in an SCC setting. We have range, 100% hit rate, and a chance of status effects. We even get Carve Model on this map! This is very very useful. We also have good equipment options to reduce damage from the summoners' abilities (White Robe), block the ninjas' melees and throws (shield + mantle), and with no need for high faith, so only Ramza is a major character to keep away from summoners. And even then, their summons do half damage due to the White Robe, providing they don't know Titan, which is somewhat rare. (Spoiler : One of them knew Titan in this fight.)

Knowing how the AI works is also useful. I can intentionally leave some low health ninjas alive to "bait" the summoners into healing them (which is the AI's priority) over using offensive summons on me. It didn't end up being relevant in this attempt, but knowing how the AI tends to act is always useful overall.

Oh yeah, and there's Malak. He's the weakest enemy here, despite being a story opponent. His Untruth magic does more damage the lower his and the enemy's faith values are (which is the opposite of regular magic), so he can potentially do okay damage to my geomancer girls, but even that would require luck on his part. He also runs when he gets in critical health. He's not a priority target.

Difficulty : 6/10

This is not a "normal" playthrough. This playthrough only shows story battles. If you have never played this game, I suggest you don't watch these videos. If you want to watch a "regular" playthrough, I suggest you watch my friend Cendril89's playthrough here : https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWimWng8q7JeIa3dTL48cZemfNIPgeppi

What is an "SCC"? It stands for Straight Character Challenge... no, wait, it stands for Single Class Challenge... Anyway, it involves playing through the game with Ramza + 4 generics, staying in the same class throughout the entire game, and without using *any* ability from *any* other class. Due to the nature of the challenge, it begins at Sweegy Woods (or Dorter Trade City if you want), because you cannot reach your desired class without grinding random battles at Mandalia Plains. Unless your desired class is squire or chemist, obviously.

Other rules for this challenge are the following :

-Special character (i.e. Orlandu) cannot be used, even in the correct SCC's class. Due to their higher-than-average stat growth, they'd have better stats than generics, and we don't want that. They can be recruited to take away their equipment, but should be swiftly booted out. Mustadio can be kept to have access to the endgame extra quests, but that is seen as against the rules to some people. I won't be doing that.

-Level caps are 20 for chapter 1, 35 for chapter 2, 50 for chapter 3 and 70 before entering Orbonne Monastery at the end of chapter 4.

-Guests can be any class, as they're not gonna stick around too much. I try not to make them OP (i.e. knight Delita with Auto Potion), usually keeping them in simple classes.

-No other dumb stuff. I think this covers any and all possible loopholes and abuses. This is a challenge run, after all. This includes the 9999 JP glitch, the weapon duplication glitch, etc. No save/load states are allowed (for people playing on emulator), either.
