These days I keep getting this enquiry about suggesting a Smart watch for Kids and this is when I found this new product that offers some interesting features at a budget. Well, I mention this as a budget because I notice parents giving an Apple watch for kids while little kids need something that's easy to use yet isn't going to cost a lost. Today I have with me the Sekyo Secura 4G Lite Smart watch for kids.
Let's open the Box and take a look at it.
On the Box there's some heavy packaging but once we remove that we would notice the brand name along with features mentioned. It shows that it comes with SOS Button, Games, Video calling etc and following this we have the pricing details mentioned. Within the Box we have this Smartwatch which looks quite interesting and funky and the strap gives a rubberised feeling along with a charging pin on the behind. Within the Box we also have the Charging Cable & an Installation Guide.
Let's look at the Smart watch. On the left side we have the slot to insert the Nano SIM and on the front we have the camera along with the back button while on the right side we have the main button. Once we start the watch, you will notice many different options.
The smartwatch pairs with your smartphone through their Sekyo App and honestly it's a very confusing app but that does not matter because the watch looks quite fast, giving a smooth experience and that's what matters. Because if the watch hangs then trust me your child wouldn't even use it.
When you scroll from the main screen to the right we have the Video call option along with contacts, camera, phone, chat, QR code, Gallery, Settings, Alarm, Stopwatch, Calculator & Game. Swiping from the Top to the bottom gives you a few quick settings.
We have now inserted a SIM card into this watch and now let's take a look at the options. We can directly call the contacts from the phone itself and also do a video call. There's also the Chat option through which the Child can send messages and the same would show up under the Sekyo app.
I tried out the camera on the watch and well, no comments but anyway this is for kids so don't expect amazing photos but rather some fun moments with their friends captured that are more important.
Overall a decent offering that gives your child a way to connect when they are out within your community, or at a tuition and would like to call you in case of emergency. They could always long press the button on the watch to enable the SOS Button and call the family member.
