This is the final Gaiden story and the only thing left in the game I honestly think is worth showing, but I still have 4 other characters to play after this. Anyways, this is Kotaro's Gaiden. Despite being a new character, he only gets 3 stages to himself, which is kind of annoying, but better than nothing.

Kotaro has a fantastic moveset, very fast and fluid so you can control your positioning easily. Many of his attacks chain into the air, where he can do air combos and even a dash that can chain back into his air combo. He's meant to fight in the air and a lot of his special accentuate that. He has a rush attack that you can just barely chain into his S-string before losing the combo, a launching attack you can follow enemies into the air with, and a move that turns himself into shurikens, which is great for damage. I only got 3 of his specials unlocked since I only had 3 stages to play as this guy. His Basara is pretty solid too.

As compensation for having a great moveset, Kotaro has some of the lowest defense in the game. He can get taken out FAST so you have to be careful when playing as him. He's a difficult to play but highly rewarding character.

Kotaro's 1st stage is your garden variety Hanbei battle. Doesn't even include the cannon. Sasuke and Kasuga also happen to be attacking Hanbei here, while Kotaro shows up on his own mission to assassinate the Toyotomi strategist.

The 2nd mission is a showdown against Hideyoshi at Yamazaki. There are a bunch of flash bang devices scattered around the air that can stun and prime anyone nearby when you hit them. This helps fighting the enemies easier, which is nice, because most of the enemies are the heavy hitting club wielding guys that can really do a number on Kotaro. Kasuga and Sasuke act as bodyguards for the stage and will help in taking down Hideyoshi, who can be scary to fight as Kotaro because if you get grabbed, it could be guaranteed death.

The 3rd and final mission is a battle against the other two ninjas, because Kotaro is a good ninja and knows how to not leave any witnesses and eliminate threats when he sees them. This is a fairly difficult battle since it's two on one, and as I've said Kotaro isn't the most durable character. After fighting these two for a bit, they'll summon one clone of themselves each, making it 4 on 1 until you defeat the shadow clones. Drain their health bar once and they'll call on lightning to strike the area randomly as you have to drain their HP a second time. This is the last time however and fortunately there are a lot of chests to open up for health to keep you going.

Kotaro is so damn fun to play and I can't wait to play him again in SB3. So many characters get way better in SB3. But for now, I have some...less than impressive characters to showcase before closing the book on SB2.
