This is the second animation in the Sentinel series. This is one step towards a video game using this material (both audio and visuals). I am getting started with the UPBGE (Uchronia Project Blender Game Engine). Like my other projects, I periodically post progress here as videos. With any luck you will see a fully functioning interactive game available soon. Note that I am not developing a conventional video game where there are enemies, points, and mission objectives. Instead, I am using the game engine as a means to create real-time generative audio-visual artwork. Each of the objects - the blue domes, the white cylinders, the green cones, etc.. (there are eight different classes of objects used in this piece), will embody a different tone or audio sample/set of samples that will be triggered by user interaction. Each collection of objects will form a different network that will operate according to a different system (non-linear, complex system). As the user navigates through the landscape, the objects will be triggered and affected simultaneously in different ways forming a spontaneously generated audio and visual composition. This will be my first time using UPBGE so I will find out what is possible with this game engine and what is not. Here we go!
