Serious Sam: The First Encounter - Tech demo and Karnak demo playthroughs
3A few weeks ago, I played through Serious Sam: TFE for the first time, using the HD version. I did not particularly enjoy several parts of it, to the point where I swore I'd never play it again.
Then I found the original version already sitting in my GOG library, and after a quick glance combined with remarks I'd heard regarding differences in the HD version, I was immediately interested in giving the game another shot using the original version.
As it turns out, the original has way more personality and charm than the HD version does. Plus we get to check out its tech demo level, which the HD version doesn't have at all (granted it's on a different engine). I also found some unique stuff in the Karnak demo level that already gives an idea of how this version proves to be more interesting.
