Serious Sam: The Second Encounter first playthrough / third region
0I was not prepared for what the third region would be, and was immediately excited because this environment could seriously overlap with the aesthetics of some of my favorite Quake maps.
Unfortunately, I feel like only the first map in this section (which has the fewest maps of the game) really capitalizes on that aesthetic, although the second map is appreciably unique as well.
The final map was actually by far the most disappointing, maybe of the entire game let alone this section. Its first half felt like a major regression into TFE-tier bland garbage of large boring rectangular arenas, and I was ready for it to be done way earlier than it was. Fortunately it got at least a little more interesting in the end.
Overall, The Second Encounter is certainly far more interesting and visually diverse than The First Encounter. It's still far from perfect, and I had certainly hoped for more out of this final section.
