House of Questions is one of the installments of maps as part of the Brainiacs contests. It's probably one of the more difficult maps out there if you are coming in blind with no context especially if puzzle isn't really your thing. And really I've been sitting on this map for years before deciding to try i don't know how long to complete it. The level has a steep difficulty level sometimes depending on context hence why I'd consider my final rating very subjective.
My honest review on this level is that most of it's difficulty boils down to this whole identity being a 'password' map. The entire level is centered around 'passwords' as in doorcodes which lets you access new parts of the level. There's a few timed events like bombs and fuses, but those are also thinly veiled passwords and numbers. Essentially, if you figure out the formulae to the 'bomb' rooms, there's plenty of time to look around, and there is no haste to search, It's like the answer is always nearby. A few parkour moments which was fun.
I love the parkour though! really loves you explore the level. Those parts really let the level shine. I really hoped there were more access to parts of the level which let you do just that, especially in the beginning.
The level design is absolutely stunning and I REALLY love how all the decorations and the level is made. In terms of level design I'd rate this a solid 4/5+ stars. Really pushes Serious Editor 1.0 way past its limits making it look better than many modern games today.
If you love numbers and math then this is your map. I think this level is perfect out there for people who are numerologists. And people who have amazing pareidolia and math skills would cruise through this map without trouble.
