Serious Sunday: The SNES Classic Edition - and reflections on the poor handling of the NES Classic
This week, Luke talks about the recent announcement of the SNES Classic Edition: a follow-up to last year's NES Mini-console the NES Classic Edition, which offered a small curated selection of iconic games for the platform for a low price, which ultimately was marred by a poorly planned product run, a shockingly short product lifecycle and some strange design decisions that colored the device's reputation negatively. He looks at what they did wrong with the NES Classic, and what they have already announced about the SNES version to remedy those problems, and also talks about the systemic issues within Nintendo's product philosophy that caused the troubles that their hardware has always faced.

Serious Sunday is a freeform, sometimes roundtable discussion between the members of Level 0 NPCs, where a specific topic is pre-selected by the group to be explored and discussed at length. Each of the NPCs approach the topic from both the perspective of a seasoned, die-hard gamer, and as creators of games themselves. Part freeform review, part critical analysis, part video game book club, Serious Sunday is where the NPCs take a step back and take a moment to give a serious look at something that is important to the industry, or games in general.
