Shootout at Old Tucson Arcade
26Much of the gameplay is similar to the Mad Dog series, including the "showdown" mechanic, where plays have to holster their weapon until it is time to draw. But surprisingly this is worthless only giving the player 1 kill in the general score and losing them has no effect.
The players start with lifes, like many games like this in the genre the goal is to kil all the enemies on the screen and access the next stage. The game use a rank system at end of every stage, every shoot count, kill every enemy with a single bullet and save civilians will achieve the maximum rank Marshall.
The game consists of 11 levels, but those are interrupted now and then by two levels being shooting training, which can be ignored to proceed fast to next stage. Lifes are lost if the player gets shot or shoots a civilian.
The player may however kill civilians by shooting at the dynamite which acts as screen clearing weapon and give no penalty. Sometimes this during the shootout a bull skull will appear, shoot it to get bonus points.
The game is "complete" when you beat the Church level and fight Pete in a duel. If you win or not the duel it doesn't matter, the game will start back to the previous levels with increasing difficulty, looping endlessly. Yea, this game has no ending.
Shootout at Old Tucson has so many issue but i wanna focus on two in particular, starting with repeating enemies.
They spawn multiple times and they are exactly the same model, make them like the endless twins army, sometimes they have spawned five times or more in the same spot, making it ridiculous to look.
To increase the game difficulty, in the later stages the game will apply a coin-eater strategy, the enemies and civilians will keep spawning multiple times in different spots dress the same as the outlaws (the only difference is that they yell and have no guns).
You also have to kill 99 outlaws to complete the level and it better be a super fast pace, otherwise you'll get shoot and destroyed quickly. Good luck on hit them with one shot while also dodging civilians.
