You may remember that intersection I showed in Quincy, Massachusetts that was the first in the state to get countdown pedestrian signals back in the late 90s. Recently, they shortened the signal cycle so it runs 15 seconds now, instead of 22! I think that was kind of a dumb idea, especially considering the long crosswalks here. At least some of the old Tassimco signal units are still being used, though some of them need LED bulbs replaced.
