It's Tsunami Tsaturday! Let's Play Blue Force! It's the Police Quest IV that never happened, created by Jim Walls after his departure from Sierra On-Line, now at Tsunami Games. Follow the budding career of rookie bike cop Jake Ryan as he works to tie a stolen cache of weapons from the National Guard with the murder of his father years prior.

In this episode:
His first day on the Job, rookie cop Jake Ryan is sent out in the field as a roaming bike cop, looking for trouble wherever it rears its ugly head - today in the form of a domestic violence call against an ogre of a man named Bradford Green, who beat up his son and is only moments away from blowing his wife away too...

Blue Force was released in 1993 by Tsunami Games, designed by Sierra On-Line alumnus Jim Walls, of Police Quest fame, as a sort of spiritual sequel to the Sonny Bonds trilogy of his previous games. Similar to his other work, it tells the story of an all-american government backed squeaky-clean super cop as he from his first day at work as a bike cop, begins to unravel a decade-long unsolved mystery tying a gun running ring with the murder of his own parents.

Blue Force is another "Procedure First" Cop adventure simulation, leaning heavily on the shoulders of following protocol, making the right radio calls, and filing the right paperwork. It has a well-meaning concept and is an overall fun game if the Police Quest series is your "bag", though was critically underwhelming, citing bad spelling, factual inconsistencies, clumsy dialogue and a game world of "prop-up facades" making it hard to really dive deep into the setting they created.

The NPCs are playing Blue Force with Roland MT-32 audio.

Sierra Saturday is a weekly series on the Level 0 NPCs channel, where Matt & Luke relive their childhoods playing classic adventure games of the '80s and '90s (and beyond?). Sierra adventure games were a special breed of dark humor, brutally unfair puzzles and unforgettable characters, and we hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane with us.
