Now stranded in Ulence Flats, Roger heads to a nearby dive bar to see if he can get some intel and maybe make a little money. He sidles on up next to a slot machine, and it's Vegas, Baby, as we go into a fast-forward montage, save-scumming our way to 230 buckazoids, while copyright infringing ZZ Top plays on the stage.

Space Quest: Chapter I: The Sarien Encounter, is the first in the long-running and beloved sci-fi parody series by Sierra On-Line veteran dream-team Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy - also known as the "Two Guys from Andromeda", released in 1986, that introduces us to the hero of the series, entirely unheroic space janitor, Roger Wilco, who must survive an encounter with a hostile alien race called the Sariens, and deliver vital information about a powerful piece of technology called the Star Generator, and prevent it from falling into enemy hands.
The original Space Quest was released to rave reviews in October of '86, and a patched version in '87, selling a whopping 100,000 copies - a massive achievement in its time. One of the rare Sierra classics to receive a VGA remake (In 1991), it is fondly remembered as the game that launched a thousand life pods, most of which exploded or crashed. Because it's a hard game.
The NPCs are playing the EGA version of Space Quest using DOSBox, with Tandy Audio.
