It doesn't hurt to look up other 10 star runs on Youtube as well, there are a few. I think the more you watch, the better prepared you'll be for your own 10 star run. Every 10 star run is different :) At the end you can see that my kills were absurdly high, and my final time was very iffy, but that was only because I tried to show off difficult scenarios (like clearing the room in the school that had 5 Gray Children, or killing Rompers before I acquired the rifle). You can simply run past those parts that look too difficult in this video, and your kills will still certainly be high enough for the 10 star ranking.

Yes, that Scratcher is dying and it does count as a shooting kill. Just leave the room before killing the hanged scratcher the first time, and Scratchers will respawn. I even accidentally do this in this very run.
I've done a lot of testing, and I've come to the conclusion that the best way to get out of enemy grabs is to mash r1+l1+x+square while rotating the analog stick. I'm fairly confident that the other buttons (triangle, circle, r2, l2) don't even assist at all in breaking free. It would surprise me greatly if there is a faster, better way to mash in this game. Trust me ;)
Sorry for getting so loud at points in this, and saying "um" a lot. When focused on getting 10 stars, I wasn't paying attention to how far away I was from the microphone.
