Stephanie Manwaring made a "silent-applaud" app that let's remote users visually show their applaud (and more) to a group after a presentation. She utilized the Socket.io library to allow for real-time animation updates from connected users to get a full group effect! Connected users can use either their mobile devices or computers to click on different icons to show animations that float across the screen for a fun, visually appealing effect. Silent Salutations can also be used to poll an audience and much more.
