Theme Park World (known as Sim Theme Park in the United States and Brazil) is a construction and management simulation, and is a sequel to the successful 1994 video game Theme Park. Theme Park World was developed by Bullfrog Productions and released by Electronic Arts in 1999[1]. Initially developed for Windows, it was later ported to PlayStation and PlayStation 2, as well for Macintosh computers[

The smell of popcorn and cotton candy, the clowns juggling, the children screaming with joy as the rides go around -- and you! That's right, you can be the proprietor of your very own amusement park with SimTheme Park from Electronic Arts and Bullfrog. Think SimCity meets Disneyland, but now you can be the boss!

Now that you're in charge, things have to get done in order for the park to open on time. You must first set the paths so visitors are able to easily access your many attractions. Obviously, rides and rollercoasters need to be placed throughout the park and entrances and exits need to be connected to a path. Shops, such as soft drinks and burger stands, need to be strategically placed throughout your park space to lure your visitors. You should also throw in some little extras like security cameras, bathrooms, trash cans and decorative elements.

Wondering about the staff? You can hire merchants, mechanics, guards, janitors and researchers. Merchants will be able to sell goods around the park, such as balloons and toys. Mechanics will fix your rides if they break down. Guards will keep the park safe and out of trouble, while Janitors will keep those bathrooms from looking nasty! Researchers can help upgrade your rides as well as discover new ones.

Once the park opens, it's a whole new can of worms! You'll have to micro-manage almost everything. You might need to put more ice in your drinks, salt on your fries or fat in your burgers to keep the people happy. Rides need good duration and speed to keep the excitement level up. Features like video arcades and games should be added for more revenue.

Don't let workers get too greedy or ticket prices rise too high -- you could be in for some financial trouble. An instant feedback manager is always willing to assist in these issues, so pay attention! If you can keep out of financial trouble, you might receive Gold Tickets, which can lead to rewards like the camcorder -- a method of entering your park as a customer. That's right, you'll be able to go on rides and see the sights!

There are 4 different types of parks to unlock and build, known as Worlds. Each World has different rides. As you unlock new areas, the game becomes progressively harder. The Worlds are:

LOST Kingdom, a jungle theme park with Aztec castles and dinosaurs. This along with Halloween World is the first world you begin with, but Wonderland and Space Zone can be unlocked later on with Golden Keys. This park, along with Halloween World, are the easiest.

Halloween World, a scary theme park with ghostly rides and haunted houses. This world, along with the Lost Kingdom only need one Golden Key to unlock. Both this park and Lost Kingdom are the easiest to play at.

Wonderland, the second to last unlocked and second hardest level. A fantasy theme park. Three Golden Keys are needed to unlock this world.

Space Zone, the final and hardest level. A futuristic theme park with spaceships and aliens. Five Golden Keys are needed to unlock this world.

The user also has the option of changing the names of the Worlds.

Golden keys and Golden tickets. The player can earn golden tickets for doing great things such as getting one-hundred people in the park, getting two-hundred people in the park, getting three-hundred people in the park within three months, and getting a $450000 profit in a year. There's 75 golden tickets in all and they can be used to buy special rides that can't be researched, just like platinum tickets. Also for every three golden tickets the player gets they get a golden key to open another park. There's twenty-three golden tickets in all. One of the rides you can get with this special feature is an elevated tram above your park.
