I just could not put up with another day of the game being too dark to play. So I set the brightness, and just dealt with the fact that the windows wouldn't line up properly. That ALSO meant that I wasn't able to tell whether or not the video was working, thankfully I could see the chat today. I managed to get the video to play and everything, so we DID get to see the full ending, which is a plus as I hadn't managed to get that working before.

This game is impressive for what it tried to do, but not for what it accomplished. The technology just wasn't there. But they put a lot of things in that became staples later on. A driving section, the underwater section, etc. I don't think they managed to execute it that well in this game, but they certainly had ideas. They wanted to make a game that was bigger than what had come before. And they did, but it just wasn't ready. Games today are a lot closer to this one. So it's interesting to look back, once again, at those beginnings. Even if the driving section here was absolutely awful with the worst controls I think I've ever seen. And that includes the original Shadow Warrior. Overall, the game itself is a mediocre FPS. But it's worth playing for the tech.
