Skip Barber Challenge Trophy | 2023 | Rounds 9 & 10 | Summit Point | iRacing
Tonight marks Rounds 9 and 10 of the 2023 Skip Barber Challenge Trophy as brought to you on iRacing; hosted by Gone Skippin’ Racing and sponsored by Musical Money with the aim of keeping the Skippy alive!
For tonight’s pair of rounds our drivers remain in the United States of America and venture to the state of West Virginia for Summit Point Motorsports Park. Awaiting them is the venue’s two mile main circuit which regularly plays host to club level race events. Consisting of ten corners and numerous straights with some major elevation changes also thrown into the mix, the track shall naturally generate close racing. When drivers are not trying to out-drag each other into the next braking zone, they shall need to be calm and collected in nailing their apexes in order to stay ahead. This shall especially apply at the “Carousel” complex through turns five to eight where we are likely to see our drivers most on edge!
In terms of the drivers’ championship, Nathan Wade’s consistency at Road Atlanta last week has seen him further his lead to 74 points over the fast-charging Cristian Pérez. Having returned to second place in the championship, Pérez will now be eager to break away from the rest of the pack as he begins to set his eyes on closing down Wade’s growing advantage. However, with Rasmus S. Vuori having moved into third place and starting to hit his stride, will it be Wade; Pérez; or Vuori who find themselves securing the majority of the points in this pair of rounds? Or could we see another name jump into the spotlight tonight?
Who will excel in the West Virginian countryside of Summit Point? Tune in and find out!
