Ashfallow Citadel is an old Imperial fort, currently being used as a base of operations by the Morag Tong.
The first room on the inside of the citadel is a wreck, covered in ash and debris. There are unlootable skeletal figures buried in said ash.
As you enter through the front door of the citadel, to your left is a shelf. There is an East Empire Company strongbox half buried in ash on the shelf. Turn around, and head down the large staircase, leading down one level. Here you will be met by Morag Tong assassins. Defeat them, continue to the lower area of the citadel, and to your immediate left is a locked chest. Once finished looting, continue on down to an old Imperial Legion barracks. The hallway is blocked off by three mechanized gates which can be drawn open with the use of pull chains.
The first door on your right is an old bunk room, with a small bookshelf that holds a few sets of Morag Tong armor. To your left is a room containing an arcane enchanter and alchemy lab, with a few potions lying on the table. This room also houses the pull chain to unlock the gate.
As you continue past the first gate, more Morag Tong assassins will challenge you. The first door to your right is a dead end that houses the pull chain for the second gate. Watch for bear traps riddling the floor. Just past this door is a cupboard which houses a few books and an elven dagger. To your left is a training room, with a weapon rack on the far wall. Pull the chain just outside the door, and advance to the final area of the citadel.
Three large, spiked door traps can be activated by pressure plates on the ground, so use caution. A small offshoot of the hallway can be found amongst the mess of traps, which houses the final pull chain. This area has its own share of traps, so be careful.
Once you pass the third and final gate, you will come to a circular, dead end room. In the center is a partially covered water pit, with skeletons floating inside. A hostile Vendil Ulen will be found guarding a chest, along with a few other Morag Tong assassins. Ulen holds a good set of armor and possibly an enchanted one-handed weapon[verification needed]. The chest is unlocked.
