This is a video guide showcasing where to find and purchase all three plots of land in the Skyrim DLC, Hearthfire. You need to gain the Jarl's favor in one of these three towns: Falkreath, Morthal, and Dawnstar. Once you get on their good side, you can either talk with the Jarl or the town's steward to purchase a plot of land for 5,000 gold.

Location: Hjaalmarch
Talk To: Aslfur or Sorli the Builder in Blue Palace (Morthal)
Cost: 5,000
Ask the steward about purchasing a home. Next you'll find the option to buy land.
You may need to complete a simple radiant quest to allow purchases. Be sure to complete any misc. quests.

Location: Falkreath Hold
Talk To: Nenya or Tekla in Jarl's Longhouse (Falkreath)
Cost: 5,000
Ask the steward about purchasing a home. Next you'll find the option to buy land.

Location: The Pale
Talk To: Jarl Skald in White Hall (Dawnstar)
Cost: 5,000
Speak with Jarl Skald inside the White Hall, and ask to buy a new house. You'll be able to purchase a plot of land to build on in The Pale.
You may need to complete a simple radiant quest to allow purchases. Be sure to complete any misc. quests.
