Normally we have required beating the Ancient Cistern in order to defeat Imprisoned 2, because beating Cistern spawns the racetracks in Sealed Grounds and thus prevents a crash. However, the crash condition is actually Groose being present in Sealed Grounds without the racetracks. We can thus substitute Sky Keep for Ancient Cistern, since Groose is no longer in Sealed Grounds spiral after beating Sky Keep. This is convenient because cutscene wrong warping allows us to set Sky Keep to be beaten early.

Additionally, modern Skyward Sword speedruns skip Sealed Grounds 1, and thus never activate the air vents in the Sealed Grounds spiral. This changes the fight because we can no longer use the air vents (except the central vent) to get onto the Imprisoned's head.

By slashing the Imprisoned's fingers on one hand, we can trigger a slam attack which has an extremely long animation, giving us enough of a head start to make a full rotation around the spiral by the time he attempts to climb the wall. We can then slice his other fingers in order to jump on his head and perform the usual jumpslash strategy to avoid getting thrown off his head and finish the fight quickly.
