I complete the level Bowser in the Sky using 6 A presses. The A presses are as follows:

A press #1: to jump up the first platform at the beginning
A press #2: to jump up the second platform at the beginning
A press #3: to jump up the third platform at the beginning
A press #4: to jump from the rotating elevator to the platform with chuckya on it
A press #5: to jump off the pole near the goombas
A press #6: to jump into the warp pipe

This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I collected this star in 7 A presses. You can find that video here: http://youtu.be/CpbT1nkkMLo. Since then, I figured out that you can use a goomba to bounce across the gap in the back-and-forth bridge. This requires Mario to dive towards the goomba, land for a single frame (so as to be in an upright position, but only one frame so as to not lose speed), and then bounce on the goomba (that had just fallen off the platform). This bounce must also occur somewhat deep on the bridge so that the other side of the bridge comes closer during Mario's air time. ​
