I collect the star Through the Jet Stream in Jolly Roger Bay using 1 A press. The A press is to jump to the star inside the jet stream. Note that if I simply waited out the metal cap directly under the star, I would be pushed out sideways, and thus I would not collect the star. ​

This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I collected this star in 2 A presses. You can find that video here: http://youtu.be/SpFhu-2Jx-g. Since then, I discovered that I could dive-recover from the rock onto the metal cap, and then ground pound to open it. This was thanks to Gaehne D., who suggested I may be able to AB-kick the box open from on top of the rock if I had enough speed. This didn't end up working, but then I realized that with enough speed, I may be able to just get on top of the box.

Note that I use pausing in order to press B on two consecutive in-game frames, the first B to dive and the second B to recover. This is necessary for avoiding dust frames, and thus conserving the most speed during the air time. ​
