I collect the star Quick Race Through Downtown! in Wet-Dry World using 1 A press. The A press is to start swimming with chuckya once in the pipe, and I hold it to swim indefinitely.

This video is TAS.

Note that I only enter Wet-Dry World on the lowest water level because that is the only way to enter the painting without pressing A.

Because I cloned this star, I show a little bit extra at the end just so it's clear that I collected the right star.

This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I collected this star in 3 A presses. You can find that video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJwdzSNQcP0. From then, I developed a new strategy that involved cloning the star instead of raising the water level. The hard part was figuring out how to bring chuckya into the pipe. See, it's easy to get JUST chuckya into the pipe by squishing him through with the block. However, then chuckya is so deep in the pipe that Mario unloads him by trying to swim that far. It's also easy to get JUST Mario into the pipe by having chuckya squish him through the wall. However, then chuckya is still on the land above. I did a lot of testing to develop this strategy, which manages to bring them both into the pipe simultaneously. This is what I do: I bring chuckya down one level, push the block into the corner, squish Mario into the block using chuckya, pick up chuckya, throw chuckya into the wall (if Mario is angled into the wall, then chuckya will be thrown in place and will fall through the ground), and finally ZB into his grab zone so that chuckya and Mario and chuckya fall down together. From there I grab him underwater and swim with him to clone the star.

If you are wondering why I did not do this in 0.5 A presses instead of 1, it's because it doesn't work. If you are already holding A, you can swim in the water, but NOT after you press B in the water. Thus, after grabbing chuckya, you must PRESS A (and not just have A held) to start swimming. ​ ​
