What is this?
So i may have accidentally found out about this feature in smash remix lol.
In the character select screen you can press (Z) to have a 2P control an enemy opponent. (eg: one of the polygons). You would technically control the CPU w/second player. But since I had xinput active during the time of this run, it was mimicing a very small portion of the inputs lol. So that's why the cpu would jump/attack/etc. If I completely change the inputs for 2nd player then the cpu would do nothing.

Why is this important? WELL this helps bypass the RNG wall that is the Giant Fight, Super Sonic/Mad Piano stage, and the Giga Bowser fight. These 3 stages hinge so much on good RNG, because you're always hoping for them to SD in the run. (fall off the stage on their own) This is possible to manipulate but isn't always reliable. Also the stages you get can vary as well, some being easier to manip the SD and some make it out right impossible. But with the 2P this helps avoid that issue.

Why am I making this video & should this be allowed for runs on the leaderboard?
I wanted to do two things. one was simply to document my classic sheik run. second was to show how cool this feature can be and maybe be something to consider allowing for runs on the leaderboards. There is no real consensus yet, lack of work or effort into the categories hasn't really been put in by anyone besides me. But I think that by allowing this it would help get the players who either want to run or don't want to run actually play it. Since a big factor into making people not want to do runs was the magnitude of the RNG. Which is taken out of the equation, for the most part.

I think that this could be allowed for the leaderboards. One reason is simply no one has really put in any work yet, so this wouldn't screw someone over (except me ROFL) But I think being more accessible to beginners or even top players is a win/win. Funnily enough, it's not like this truly invalidates the runs that wouldn't use this. Since the 7:09 is actually obtainable with just REALLY good RNG. This would just speed up the process. Maybe like a alt mode select when submitting would work (ie: 1P only/1P+2P)

Wouldn't this be considered cheating?
That I don't really know. Like this is a feature built into remix. Some other games do have advantages to having other controllers plugged in while playing (ie Legend of Zelda) So I guess it's up in the air. What it would come down to I think is just how you perceive the integrity of the challenge. Do you think dealing with the RNG and praying for the CPUS to SD is worth it? Not to mention that the stages are random so if you don't get the viable one for the SD then that already means a reset at high level runs. Not to mention it appears that with every update the AIs are actually getting better lol. Plus, turning off advanced AI doesn't affect them in Remix Classic.

Anyway, I think that's all I got, if you have any comments, questions, etc feel free to leave them in the comments! I would love to hear feedback and your thoughts on the matter. I also hope you enjoyed the video, the commentary was a little scatter brained becasue I just woke up LOL. Thanks for watching :)
