50This is my second video on SMILE. SMILE is a Super Metroid level editor that allows you to edit Super Metroid roms and make your own hack.
In this video, I'll tell you how to make rooms bigger and how to allow more space for tiles in a room. I'll cover
- Removing any existing header
- How to add extra space (banks) to a rom
- Introduce the hex editor
- Introduce Lunar Address, and the different addresses used
- How to change level data pointers
- A precaution on altering the room dimensions, and how to do it
- An issue with moving doors after expanding a room
- How rooms are shown on the map editor
