Smite Tactics Beta-First look!
1Hi folks. Today we're taking a look at the tactical, CCG from Hi-Rez studios called Smite Tactics. This game blends a tactical playing field with a collectible card game similar to Magic or Hearthstone. The closest game that I can think of to ST is one called Duelyst.
This game takes place within the Smite universe which is populated with gods fro several pantheons including the Greeks and Romans, Norse, and more. Once you get past the tutorial, you will pick a faction leader and cards made up of neutrals and ones from that pantheon. This is similar to picking a class in Hearthstone like a mage or rogue. You and your opponent start on opposite sides of the playing field. You can summon units or cast spells while also moving during a turn. The goal of course is to kill the enemy leader.
I think it's a fun game as I like the blend of a CCG and a tactical game. It's not the first of its kind but the Smite universe is fairly robust. If the game can piggyback off of Smite's popularity, the game could do fairly well for itself but it really borrows several aspects from Hearthstone and Hi-Rez's champion shooter called Paladins.
